When Volkswagen ceased production of camshaft covers for grooved engine cases, the market was left with few viable alternatives. Consequently, numerous engine builders were frustrated as cheap, substandard replacements often led to leaks, necessitating further disassembly of engines.
This gap in the market inspired us to develop the CSP Products CNC-machined stainless steel camshaft plugs. These plugs conform to VW specifications and are designed for Type-1 engines from '66 onwards, as well as Type-4 and WBX models, perfectly sealing the 27.5 mm camshaft hole located on the flywheel side of the engine case.
