Description
IMPORTANT NOTICE: This distributor must be used with a coil that has ab internal resistor or a suitable inline ballast resistor. Failure to use the correct coil will void any warranty claims.
INSTALLATION:
1 - Remove/install distributor per factory recommended procedure. Clears most fuel pumps, but in the event that the fuel pump interferes with the amplifier, a change of fuel pump or distributor rotation may be necessary.
2 - Connect Red Wire to the positive (= or 15) side of the coil.
3 - Connect Black Wire to negative (- or 1) side of the coil.
DO NOT REVERSE THE WIRES or the amplifier will be destroyed!
4 - Requires a Bosch Blue coil with built in resistor. An external ballast resistor may be used between power source and distributor if your coil does not feature a built-in resistor.
5 - Connect Vacuum advance to the manifold vacuum port - either on the manifold or on carburetor (Below the butterfly is recommended)
6 - Set timing with a Strobe light following factory procedure.
7 - Requires a 12-volt, negative ground electrical system.
We now offer a variety of different SVDA distributors. All are very good quality and some offer Electronic Ignition systems. (Please note: SVDA distributors work perfectly with 34-Pict Carburetors, but will not work properly with 30/31 Pict Carburetor)
