Description
This pump is originally designed as a stock replacement for all 70-71 Beetle, Ghia, Bus and Type-3 engines. This pump is also used when performance camshafts are installed on 72-79 engines. These all performance camshafts are known as "flat cam" because they came with a 3 bolt/rivet flat cam gear. Later models (72-79) came with a 4 bolt / dished cam gear, and they 4 bolt dished cams need a different pump which has a longer drive gear and deeper pump body.
